The Baltic Hurricanes roll into Berlin for the first of back to back games against the Rebels and wouldn't you know it, the runners up to the German bowl last year are the favourites. Shocking!

| Berlin Rebels -v- Kiel Baltic Hurricanes, from the days of yore. |
The big boys in the mangled Irish tricolours rumble into their second game with some momentum built up from an impressive 49-21 victory over the Panthers; just another day at the office for a team that has been to the German bowl in each of the last four seasons (winning it in 2010). With a resumé like that they'll be fully expecting to get out of Berlin with a win this weekend, but looking to put a crimp in those plans will be the Rebels who narrowly lost 17-16 to the Adler powerhouse in their opener.
A lot of onlookers at the Adler-Rebels game would agree that the Rebels let a W slip out of their hands there. Newcomers to the GFL this year the young squad let its immaturity show as they failed to close out the game as they should have. How much can a team grow in the space of two weeks? Well they'll have done everything they could think of to remedy that but as little Michael will tell you, it's as easy as A, B, C!
The keys to the game for the Rebels will be to A) establish the running game, B) cut down on penalties, and C) play an entire football game. If they can manage to do that; that is, dictate the tempo of the game, play disciplined and for the whole sixty minutes, it's really not that long a shot for them to pull out a win and get back to the .500 mark for the season. Oh and of course a kiss from Lady Luck wouldn't hurt some either! No matter how they end up playing the game it's sure to be entertaining with the explosive players on Coach Kims offense and Coach Cooks D head-hunting as they converge on the ball like a pack of ravenous wolves on every snap. Just ask any of the 5,172 people that turned out to watch it last time!

| Rebels WR Jason Horton scores the first of his 2 TDs vs the Adler |
As for what kind of game to expect from these two if you do turn up; I don't think it'd be too far a stretch to think it could be somewhat of a mid-range shootout; 20-somethings or thirty-somethings. Reasoning for that would be Kiel having a potent O versus the Rebels tough D paired with the improved Rebels offense starting to gel and gain some traction on the season. If the Rebels want to be taken seriously on a consistent basis they will need to find a way to win this one at home before travelling the following week north to face the Hurricanes on their home field; a much more difficult ask. At the very least the Rebels will need to run them as close as they did the Adler, if they can weather the storm and maybe even come out of these first three games with a win they'll undoubtedly be battle tested and ready to make a serious playoff push as the season enters the second quarter.
Then as far as betting your life savings; well, I wouldn't advise it, but if you're in the betting business for an adrenaline ride put it all on black. It might not always be pretty but it'll be fun to watch that's for sure!
Kick off is at 15h in order for you to still make it back in time to catch the Champions League final, so you've no excuse to miss what should be a cracker!
That's all for now folks; until the post-mortem!
Slán.
